Buying beer

Another day in this country, another amusing peculiarity. I went to buy beer at the local supermarket. Beer and wine is sold in most supermarkets here (unlike Australia, when will the Australians learn?). So, I was waiting in line to pay for my goods: a six-pack of Heineken and a six-pack of Pilsner Urquell, the best beer I could find there. Behind the counter was a young woman, maybe 19 or 20 years old.
When it was my turn to pay, she asked me: “Could you please scan the beer for me?” She didn’t touch it. Guess why! She’s not 21 yet, not allowed to handle alcohol!!! HAHAHA This country is so hilarious!
